Sites and soils
Our soils are diverse, ranging from thick, calcareous loess to lighter clay soils and the light, warm sandy soils of the ancient coastline. The different characteristics of these soils are reflected in each of our wines. And that is precisely what makes our wines so distinctive.
Ruvinum
The Ruvinum impresses with its modern architecture and offers a breathtaking panoramic view stretching from Korneuburg far into the Wachau Valley and to the Schneeberg mountain. This unique vista makes the "Skywalk" a spectacular viewpoint in the Weinviertel region. It's the perfect place to soak in the vastness of the region in a contemporary setting. A visit is worthwhile for this impressive backdrop alone.
Our locations
The Ried Spiegel vineyard is so close to the sky. This airy plateau, composed of rich loess soil, is characterized by a balanced climate thanks to cool downslope winds from the forest above. Here, robust, terroir-driven white wines ripen.
The Kirchboden vineyard is a uniform plain with heavy alluvial loess soil – profound in character and very early ripening. This site produces powerful and complex wines with expressive terroir.
The Bergen vineyard is characterized by south- and southwest-facing slopes and terraces of calcareous loess and loess deposits. Our fruity white wines thrive in these conditions.
Playful longitudinal and transverse terraces formed from light loess deposits and sandbanks of the ancient sea. Facing southwest, cool, nocturnal winds from the north sweep across the vineyards, promoting the development of aromas. Ideal conditions for elegant, fruit-forward wines.
